John Henshall (Fruit Salesmen) Ltd are major independent fruit & vegetable wholesaler in the United Kingdom, based at premises on the New Smithfield Market, Manchester. Incorporated in 1928, our continued success can be attributed to our ability  to procure quality produce for our customers at competitive prices and by responding quickly to the changing demands of the fruit and vegetable market. 

The current management team of Andrew and Richard Murison each have over 20 years experience in the fruit and vegetable environment. They took over from their father, Gordon, on his retirement in 2007. Gordon acquired the company in 1986, taking the reins from John Henshall, the 3rd generation of the Henshall family to have guided the company. The company thrived under Gordon and continues to do so under Andrew and Richard’s leadership.

In addition to the 4 large units occupied in the Market, the company also owns a substantial warehouse (719 sq. m) with refrigerated storage for 500 pallets of fresh produce and additional capacity for non cold-store produce. Timely deliveries are ensured by our fleet of ten 18t and 7.5t vehicles and a van.

The strength of the company is in it's highly experienced team of salesmen, each specializing in a particular product range and supported by admin and logistics teams dedicated to enhancing the service provided.
